Tony Cox, Vault Load Films, and Director P. Miller Sidestep Hollywood for Greenville, Mississippi to Premiere Their New Blockbuster Movie, Little Mailman
Little Mailman, Tony Cox's first starring role in a feature film, delivers a hilarious comedy about what it takes to keep the customers happy, without going postal.
Greenville, MS (Billboard Publicity Wire) November 11, 2008 -- The cast and crew of the hit new film Little Mailman are rolling out the red carpet for tonight, Thursday, November 6, at the Nelco Theatre in Greenville, Mississippi. Rather than hold a traditional gala premiere in Hollywood, California, the producers decided to take their premiere on the road and screen it for the fans themselves.

"Instead of premiering these blockbusters at a typical theatre in Hollywood, we decided to reach out to a whole new market that doesn't normally get the attention," said the film's director P. Miller. "We're bringing the stars out here to the fans."
P. Miller was among the first hip-hop entertainers to endorse president-elect Barack Obama and now, P. Miller is making history of his own by bringing the first movie premiere to Greenville. After the premiere in Mississippi, the film will screen in Tennessee, Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, New York, and California.
Film synopsis: Accompanied by his mailman-in-training sidekick, Randy (Tony Cox) makes his rounds to all of his regular stops. Life at the post office gets interesting when packages and letters start disappearing. As investigators close in on the mail thief, Randy learns what it really takes to make sure everyone gets their packages.
"It was great being able to work with Tony Cox who I think is one of the funniest guys around. As a little person, he brings it big on the screen and in the movie. I also enjoyed working with Michael Blackson who's an incredible talent and is on his way to being the next Chris Tucker," continued P. Miller.
Several of the film's neighborhood residents are parodies of real-life personas such as Star Jones, Perez Hilton, a black Hugh Hefner, and Big Boy. The town even has their own version of Tom from MySpace.
The cast includes notables such as Tommy "Tiny" Lister (The Dark Knight, Friday), Terry Miles, Greg Bryan, and Gary "G Thang" Johnson. Newcomers Brittany Alexis and Liana Mendoza also lit up the set and contributed to the film's diverse cast.
"These talented ladies beat out thousands of other Hollywood actresses for the role. Normally these kinds of roles go to the same old people, but we saw a new talent in both Brittany and Liana that we just needed to capture. Brittany is the next Kerry Washington and Liana is the next Eva Mendes."
Executive Producer Jim Finkl was a fan of Cox's work in Bad Santa and was proud to give Tony Cox his first starring role in a theatrical release.
P. Miller (formerly Master P), Michael Blackson, Silkk the Shocker, Brittany Alexis, and Terry Miles will be at the film premiere. Terry Miles is also starring in a new sitcom airing on Better Black TV. For more on BBTV, visit www.betterblacktv.com
Following a theatrical run, Little Mailman will be released on home video and DVD. For more information on the movie, log on to www.littlemailman.com.
