New Pete Yorn Music Video Tackles Commentary on the State of the Nation in an Effort to Mobilize Voters

"American Blues Volume 1" Music Video Deals with Hot Button Political Topics of Stock Market Woes, Real Estate Downturn and Joblessness Among Others - Generates Tremendous Online Buzz to the Tune of Nearly 250K Views and Counting
May the images in this video serve as a reminder of where we are as a nation and ignite hope and action for a better future for our children and beyond.

Los Angeles, CA (Billboard Publicity Wire) October 22, 2008 -- Pete Yorn, the self-taught singer songwriter who began his music career with an RIAA gold-certified album, has produced and released a new single titled "American Blues Volume 1". The single has been released with a music video that has captured the attention of online communities and would be voters in mass scale. Lyrics like "four-dollar-a-gallon-gas as jobs get slashed, you love your house, now give it back" cut together with images from current headline news, providing an accurate portrayal of the woes facing many Americans. Yorn hopes the video will ultimately motivate voters to turn out at the polls on November 4.

Yorn wrote "American Blues Volume 1" on the 4th of July, 2008 after reading the morning paper. Moved by the amount of negativity he saw, including groups planning to boycott Independence Day, he penned the song on the spot. Shortly after, while in Salem, Oregon, Pete recorded the song with Frank Black (formerly of The Pixies) as producer. After Yorn emailed the song to some friends, an old childhood mate from Yorn's early days in New Jersey was so deeply affected by the message that he set out to make a video to support the song with imagery.

Regarding the video, Yorn says, "May the images in this video serve as a reminder of where we are as a nation and ignite hope and action for a better future for our children and beyond." A free download of the song and the video for American Blues are posted on Yorn's Myspace page at http://www.myspace.com/peteyorn.
