Indiewood Runs with Destiny in "Pushing Life"

57 year old man runs 75 consecutive marathons in 75 consecutive days to bring awareness to the plight of single parent families.

Los Angeles, CA (Billboard Publicity Wire) January 19, 2008 -- Indiewood Pictures, Inc. (IP) announced an agreement to produce the life story of Terry Hitchcock, as a feature-length motion picture titled "PUSHING LIFE."

After the death of his young wife to breast cancer, Terry was responsible for raising their three children alone. Inspired by the difficulties that face single parent families, he seized on an idea. In 1996, this fifty-seven year old ran from Saint Paul, Minnesota to Atlanta, Georgia to draw attention to the lives of these true everyday heroes. Terry covered a distance of over 2,000 miles by running the equivalent of 1 marathon every day for 75 consecutive days. He arrived in Atlanta for the opening ceremonies of the 1996 Summer Olympics.

Filmmaker, Tim VandeSteeg is directing and producing the project. Tim is the CEO of Indiewood Pictures, a film development and production company. Tim first got noticed when he secured over 50 corporate sponsors (including SUBWAY Restaurants, LifeTime Fitness and Sun Country Airlines) to finance his first feature film Mulligan. Recently, he completed the award-winning love story Fall Into Me and is currently in postproduction on the documentary My Run. He sees the Terry Hitchcock Story as the chance of a lifetime to present and share a story that depicts strength, love, family and sadness … and all the emotions that define a lifetime. "This is a story that goes beyond definition; it is the story of an ordinary person accomplishing extraordinary things. It is THE story for all to see … to learn from." The screenplay has been written by Jeff Turner and Tim VandeSteeg.

Mark Castaldo, Producer and CEO of Destiny Pictures has joined the production as a Producer. Mark is the co-executive producer on the horror/thriller Psych 9, starring Sara Foster, Cary Elwes and Michael Biehn. Past film projects include thrillers "The Perfect Nanny" and "The Perfect Tenant" both having premiered on the USA and HBO networks respectively.

Pushing Life is scheduled for production in 2008.
