The Independent Video Show Rises to New Levels

Giving viewers a look into the independent world of Hip-Hop and R&B, including leading musical artists and breaking new independent acts.

Van Nuys, CA (Billboard Publicity Wire) May 21, 2007 -- Award-Winning veteran music video programmer and founder of The Independent Video Show, Ed Waterford, has partnered with executive producer Rob Williams. Williams will help the show increase the production quality to High Definition and help market The Independent Video Show into additional distribution and new territories worldwide. The show gives viewers a look into the gritty world of Hip-Hop and R&B, including leading musical artists and breaking new independent acts. The Independent Video Show is going to further it's distribution reach into additional broadcast cable TV networks, IPTV, Mobile, and the Internet. "With new technologies and broadcast industries segmenting or developing, the show is going to grow its overall reach, allowing us to give artists' International exposure, introduce more Hip Hop and R&B fans to new music, and provide our partners / sponsors / advertisers the ability to align with the next super artists," says Williams.

The Independent Video Show has the jump on interviewing artists before they've hit the mainstream. The show takes you underground, behind the scenes on music video shoots, red carpet events, while bringing fans the latest Hip Hop and R&B music videos. As a music executive at a Hip-Hop/R&B independent record label, Waterford saw an opportunity. "There were very few avenues to help promote independent artists and their videos, and most are not granted access or do not have the financial resources to compete against powerhouse major labels," Waterford explains. He realized what was lacking was a video show that offered interviews and video exposure for indie artists, and in 1994, The Independent Video Show was born. Word soon spread about this Los Angeles based hot new show, and even the major label artists were stopping by. Every week, loyal fans tune in to check out latest and hottest videos, celebrity news and events.

Celebrity interviews and guest who have appeared on The Independent Video Show include, Quik and AMG, Daz Dillinger, Snoop Dogg, E-40, Mike Jones, Bubba Sparxxx, Pretty Ricky, Lil Rob, Ying Yang Twins, Chamillionaire, Yung Joc, Lil Rob, RBX , just and many more. The Independent Video Show was created to introduce millions of Hip Hop & R&B fans to the newest scorching music videos & artists. "For thirteen years The Independent Video Show has delivered awareness for young artists and their music at the beginning of their career, before they become house hold name, from Alicia Keys, Jay Z, Black Eyed Peas, to Lil Jon, to name only a few of the hundreds of artists we help break," says Waterford.

The Independent Video Show currently airs on Time Warner, West Hollywood, California, (channel 36), and carried as a free Video On Demand (VOD) channel by five of the top seven US cable operators, and many more. In total, the free VOD channel is available in approximately 17 million US TV homes. You can find The Independent Video Show in the VOD / FREE / havoc TV / MUSIC / HIP HOP category or check with your cable service provider.
