In addition to the Astralwerks promotion, Tripnotica will provide another installment of its unique monthly electronica/ downtempo concert event with live performances by seven of New York City's most exciting indie bands--including NME breaking band of the week, Virgo loves Cancer; international trip hop artists, Puracane; and the brit-influenced swirlgazing, Apollo Heights (named "best live band in New York" by Fader magazine).
Art for Progress, a Manhattan-based nonprofit organization providing arts education programs to public schools, will premiere live works by celebrated mixed-media artist Jason Covert and others. Multimedia artists will unveil new works throughout the venue to the moody, atmospheric soundtrack of surprise guest downtempo and electronica DJs all night long.
Tripnotica is a new, vibrant New York-based group of musicians, artists, filmmakers, and designers who--in collaboration with Filter Magazine, The Onion, Properlychilled.com, Deli Magazine, and others--are dedicated to showcasing the latest, most diverse, tripped-out live music and art at monthly underground downtown concerts and parties.
