TRIPNOTICA Presents New York's Exclusive Pre-Record Release Party for Bjork's Volta
TRIPNOTICA, in collaboration with Atlantic Records, presents the exclusive, premiere New York pre-record release party for Bjork's thrilling new album, Volta (One Little Indian/Elektra, 5/08/07). The official preview event will include promotional giveaways and will be held at The Delancey on Friday, April 20th, from 8:30 p.m. - 4 a.m. Admission is $10. In addition to Volta's premiere, TRIPNOTICA will provide another installment of its unique monthly electronica/ downtempo concert event with live performances by five of New York City's most exciting indie bands--including international trip hop artist, Costanza (who sang on Tricky's "Vulnerable" and "Back to Mine"); electronica multi-instrumentalist, Honeychild Coleman; the jazzy, smoky soundscapes of DJ Slouch; and the theatrical, phantasmagoria of X:THC.
Art for Progress, a Manhattan-based nonprofit organization providing arts education programs to public schools, will premiere live works by celebrated mixed-media artist Jason Covert and others. Multimedia artists will unveil new works throughout the venue to the moody, atmospheric soundtrack of surprise guest downtempo and electronica DJs all night long.
TRIPNOTICA is a new, vibrant New York-based group of musicians, artists, filmmakers and designers who -- in collaboration with Filter Magazine, The Onion, Properlychilled.com, Deli Magazine and others -- are dedicated to showcasing the latest, most diverse, tripped-out live music and art at monthly underground downtown concerts and parties.
