Chicago, IL (Billboard Publicity Wire) March 26, 2007 -- North of Nashville Records announced today that Americana band Majors Junction will be releasing their new album "Confluence" on March 30th at the House of Blues Chicago. The band is expecting....to sell a lot of CD's in 2007 as well as prepare for a new arrival. Mike Mulcahy and Heather O'Brien, dual pipes for the vocal harmony driven band Majors Junction will greet the efforts of their procreation activities in late September. The couple will be surprised by the sex of their baby and have planned to paint the child's room a neutral color.
The 5 man one woman band from Chicago came onto the scene in 2003 with their debut release "A Desert Oasis". Local garnered praise has propelled the band to bigger gigs like the Taste of Chicago and The Greeley Stampede in Colorado, which has their growing fan base eagerly awaiting the release of "Confluence".
Recently adding tall, smooth, stand-up guy bass player Roger Sherman to the line up, the "old" bass player Michael Scott Duplessis has slid over to the keys, where he is very, very familiar and tasteful. Never a beat-off, Colin Williams has been driving the hits with his drums and sticks for Majors Junction since the early days in the studio back in 2002. Rounding out the lead guitar role depends on the evening; any instance would provide a peek at the innards of veteran Chicago guitar aces. After session playing in Nashville for 10 years, Brian Wilke brings expert precision to his vast library of licks. Whether he lugs his 100 pound pedal steel guitar with him or he strolls in with his Telecaster, his playing is the best in Chicago. The other veteran ace, John Hasbrouck, has been a national presence on the slide guitar scene since August 2002, when his debut release "Ice Cream" received Top CD honors from Acoustic Guitar Magazine.
The band will be headed East in April to support their release with 4 shows in Vermont. Stopping by the Phish tank Nectar's on April 5th before returning to Chicago to play poster boy for the launch of Chicago's newest event production company, BinJ, at Lincoln Park Blues Joint Lilly's on April 27. The release tour culminates at the legendary alt-country hangout The Hideout on May 4th.
