New York, NY (Billboard Publicity Wire) March 16, 2007 -- TRIPNOTICA in association with Art For Progress, Filter Magazine, East Village Radio and other media, will hold its official opening night event at Rebel NYC, 251 W. 30 st., NYC on Friday, March 30 from 10:00pm-4am. Admission is $10. At the event, TRIPNOTICA will host the premiere New York record release / listening party for Ed Rec Vol. 2 (VICE, Ed Banger/Because Records, 4/10/07) featuring autographed promotional giveaways.

In addition to Ed Rec Vol. 2, TRIPNOTICA will debut its unique monthly electronic/ downtempo concert event with live and remix performances by five of New York City's most exciting indie bands--including international electronica supergroup, Puracane; the phantasmagorical soundscapes of X: THC; the jazzy, smoky grooves of DJ Slouch, shoegaze darlings of NY, King Of Beers (Loveless Music) and a trippy remix set by guest performers Echostream.

Art for Progress, a Manhattan-based nonprofit organization providing arts education programs to public schools, will premiere and auction live works by celebrated mixed-media artist Jason Covert, the multi dimensional multimedia artist Spot and Museum Of Modern Art/Brooklyn Museum guest artist VJ Miixxy. Also, many other artists unveil new works displayed throughout the venue to the moody, atmospheric soundtrack of downtempo and electronica Andy Durutti (Loveless Music Group) and The Christopher Effect (Popkiss/Unsavory/Corrosion).

TRIPNOTICA is a new, vibrant New York-based group of musicians, artists, filmmakers, and designers who--in collaboration with Filter Magazine, NY Press, Properlychilled.com, The Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Deli Magazine, and others--are dedicated to showcasing the latest, most diverse, tripped-out live music and art at underground downtown concerts and parties. The March 30 celebration marks the official opening of TRIPNOTICA's monthly New York City events.
