New York, NY (Billboard Publicity Wire) February 7, 2007 -- Broadway Bullet returns for its second season on Thursday, Feb 8th with exclusive live performances and an interview with "Grey Gardens" composer Scott Frankel and performers Matt Cavanaugh and Erin Davie.
Scott plays piano and the performers sing 3 new songs; "The Girl Who Has Everything," "Goin' Places" and a new version of "Daddy's Girl." The songs were recorded live in Broadway Bullet's Times Square recording studio. The Show was a hit Off-Broadway production at Playwright's Horizons in the spring of 2006, and spawned an original Off-Broadway Cast Album. When the show transferred to Broadway, with most of the cast intact, The composers wrote three new songs to polish and tighten the show further. With no plans yet for a new cast recording, Broadway Bullet is the only place, besides live at the Walter Kerr Theater, to hear the songs.
Scott, Erin and Matt also discuss the making of the musical, Erin's Broadway debut, zealous fans, and what makes the unconventional show work. "Grey Gardens" was Time Magazine's pick for the #1 Show of 2006.
Also on the season premiere of Broadway Bullet is an interview with the writer and a monologue from the new play, "6969" at 59E59th St, Two songs and an interview from "Nerds! A Musical Software Satire" opening in Philadelphia and an interview with participants from the new Off-Broadway play, "Absolute Clarity."
Marty Cooper will be back with "On the Positive Side." We'll also hear from a few of the winners of the "Going Geeky for Spring Awakening" contest. The contest was co-sponsoerd by BroadwayWorld.com, and we caught up with the winners at the Talkback after the show.
