TRIPNOTICA & Filter Magazine Present New York's Exclusive Record Release Party for Air's Pocket Symphony

TRIPNOTICA, in collaboration with Filter Magazine, presents the premiere New York record release / listening party for Air's thrilling new album, Pocket Symphony (Astralwerks, March 2007). The official preview event will include promotional giveaways and will be held at The Delancey in NYC on Sunday, February 18th, from 7pm - 2am. Admission is $10. In addition to Pocket Symphony's premiere, TRIPNOTICA will provide a preview of its unique monthly electronic/ trip hop/ downtempo concert event with live performances by six of New York City's most exciting indie bands -- including international trip hop supergroup, Puracane; renowned singer/songwriter, Wendy Starland, the jazzy, smoky soundscapes of DJ Slouch; and guest performers Jette Kelly and DJ Scott Fogelgren -- of Washington, DC's cinematic sweethearts, Jette-Ives.

Art for Progress, a Manhattan-based nonprofit organization providing arts education programs to public schools, will premiere and auction live works by celebrated mixed-media artist Jason Covert, well-known graphic designer & painter Kenneth Yee, and others. Multimedia artists including Museum Of Modern Art/Brooklyn Museum guest artist VJ Miixxy and the internationally exhibited Menelaos will unveil new works throughout the venue to the moody, atmospheric soundtrack of downtempo and electronica DJs Insect, Andy Durutti and The Christopher Effect.

TRIPNOTICA is a new, vibrant New York-based group of musicians, artists, filmmakers, and designers who -- in collaboration with Filter Magazine, NY Press, Properlychilled.com, The Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Deli Magazine, and others -- are dedicated to showcasing the latest, most diverse, tripped-out live music and art at underground downtown concerts and parties. February 18th's celebration marks the first of TRIPNOTICA's monthly New York City events.
