Acoustic Artist Fearlessly Re-imagines U2, Cougar, Mitchell Hits on Six-String Radio

Acoustic artist Guy-Michael Grande's live solo CD chronicles "land of the free where the Gigolo Roam…" Six-String Radio features emotionally intense performances of classic covers (U2, John Cougar Mellencamp, Joni Mitchell, Johnny Cash, The Eurythmics) beautifully blended with new songs of his own. A must-hear for music supervisors and music fans.

Hartford, CT (Billboard Publicity Wire) November 1, 2006 -- Thanks to emergent artist Guy-Michael Grande, "Where The Streets Have No Name," "Ain't Even Done With The Night" and "A Case Of You" have a new sonic address. Grande's latest CD Six-String Radio features emotionally intense performances of these and other classic covers beautifully blended with new songs of his own.

"I tried to make an honest, direct record," explains the indie singer-songwriter, who averages 150 live solo performances a year, mainly in his native Northeast U.S. Six-String Radio is just that: twelve live takes of pure GMG, genuine as can be. Produced without any overdubs or studio tricks, it's a revealing, intimate performance for people who want to hear great music.

overdue bills and trickle-down income
Reflecting his love and admiration for the solo acoustic work of music legends Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson, Grande reveals the sheer beauty of each song with economy and simplicity. Whether he's singing of "overdue bills and trickle-down income" ("Gigolo Roam"), an adorable little girl's world ("All About Grace") or a soldier's earnest wish ("Back Home Again"), his warm voice and acoustic guitar propel them with understated intensity.

Along with his original compositions, Grande skillfully re-imagines John Cougar Mellencamp's hit "Ain't Even Done With The Night," Joni Mitchell's masterpiece "A Case Of You," an absolutely stunning Eurythmics gem "When The Day Goes Down," vintage Johnny Cash rocker "I Feel Better All Over" and U2's "Where The Streets Have No Name."

"These are songs I love, songs I play every night," he enthuses. "Songs I've tried to find my way into and make my own." Grande's now sharing them with the world via Six-String Radio and performances spanning from Northampton to New York and Nashville, from Hartford to Hollywood. Produced by The Safari Brothers, Six-String Radio was mastered by Toby Mountain (whose credits range from Bowie to Zappa). Six-String Radio is Grande's third release on Route Five Records.
